April 8 wood ducks
went to see the Wood Ducks, and, though unsuccessful in doing so, found the refuge to be a very beautiful place
April 6 Otters
I did not know that Indiana had wild otters. I had some time to kill, so I wandered into the park and got out of the car to get some fresh air near a pond. Soon an otter started swimming toward me. He kept popping his head out of the water to observe what I was doing. It was a cool experience.
July 7 Rewarding and Relaxing Place To Be by enjoyers of natures beauty
On one of our many trips there, my wife and I came upon an amazing site in one of the marshes there. What started out as photographing a doe feeding in the marsh, we saw more then 20 Great Blue Herons. They were in the trees, on the bank, perched on logs and stand in the water. There were also 3 green herons. A group of 4 raccoons and 3 scattered about raccoons we scavenging about as well as 17 otters were feeding and playing in the water. 4 of them were pups. It was an amazing moment in our lives. On another day we saw 24 deer, 3 fawns and the rest were does and bucks, all the bucks were in velvet. In the short time we have been going there, we have photographed of 150 species of wildlife of that over 130 species of birds. Each day there is a new adventure.
August 10 A great spot! by lovetheparksinIndiana
We first visited Muscatatuck when we moved to Seymour years ago. Quiet & beautiful park. Even with our kids now teenagers they still love to visit the Myers Cabin and the visitors center.

Lots of wildlife, especially waterfowl and shore birds. Very clean and well kept.
September 21 a wildernes refuge by nature lovers from Ohio
We like to visit a couple of times a year (have done so for over 20 years). We love to see the seasons of different wildlife and the bird migrations. It is fascinating to see what is just passing through on a flight path north or south. We have seen enjoyed all kinds of wildlife and find it a serene natural place.
April 21 Excellent Birding Paradise Kids Love It! by Bird Loving Family
We love going here. The kids love it. There is a large visitors center with a nice short paved hiking trail that is great for kids and physically disabled people. There are tons of birds(great blue herons, green herons, egrets, wood ducks, mallards, coots, owls, hawks, teals, swallows, grebes, geese sparrows, warblers) and wildlife(deer, turtles, otters, muskrats, beavers). Picnic areas and hiking trails. There is a self guided auto tour and there are plenty of areas where cars are allowed unlike some NWR so you can view the birds easily from your car. The visitors center also has a movie and a place set up with bird feeders to view song birds etc. There is a migratory bird festival the second weekend in May that is also excellent with fun things to do for adults and kids!
